Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 4 after the service. |
The Gnostic Gospels and Unity
Sundays
3:00 - 4:30 PM |
Much of Unity's "theology" has been informed by ancient spiritual principles that were formulated by a group called the Gnostics in the first to fourth centuries. The Gnostics sought experiential spiritual insight, rather than learning a set of religious rules and regulations as promulgated by a church.
Join this on-going Unity study group at any time,
facilitated by Rev. Bill Worth.
Texts being used:
Beyond Belief -The Secret Gospel of Thomas by Elaine Pagels
The Story of Unity by James Dillet Freeman.
Class available on a Love Offering basis and
meets in the large classroom. |

Zen Meditation
Wednesday Nights
7:30 - 9:00 PM
|
The teacher Jonathan Sodos explains;
"No matter how long we have been sitting, we aim for "beginner's mind" and treat each period of meditation as if it were our first time. We welcome everyone to begin or expand their exploration of Zen practice with us. Our practice centers on silent Zen meditation (zazen). Newcomers will be offered instruction on the mechanics of sitting including the posture, the breath, and disposition of the mind during meditation. Informal Dharma discussion will also take place during our meetings. Appropriate attire is modest comfortable clothing. Zen knows peace with all religious doctrines and practices, so please do not hesitate to join us"
The Sangha meets every Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:00. Donations are accepted. |
